The President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin announced the gratitude to Sergey Orlov, Chairman of the board of directors of “RWM Capital” Investment Group for “active public work”. The relevant order of the Head of State No. 285-rp dated September 20 was published at the official legal information internet portal.
In accordance with the provision approved by Presidential Decree No. 487 dated April 11, 2008, the Certificate of Appreciation granted by the President of the Russian Federation is a “form of recognition of an achievement in defence of the Fatherland, ensuring safety of the state, strengthening legality, life and health protection, protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms, state construction, economy, science, culture, art, education, sports, charity and other merits for the state.”
Sergey Orlov is a member of the Presidium of the General Council of All-Russia Public Organization Delovaya Rossiya, Chairman of the Committee for social responsibility of business, charity and patronage. Thanks to his active participation, the Committee became one of the leading expert and professional venues that contribute to the revival of historic traditions relating to patronage and charity, playing an important role in formation of new charity culture and infrastructure in our country.
In 2014, Mr. Orlov was one of the initiators of the revival of the All-Russian Award “Blagoe Delo” (Good Cause), the first and the only Russian award in business community granted for achievements of country’s socially responsible businessmen and voluntary and their material contribution in sustainable development of not only an individual business but also the society as such.
“I am very pleased to be noticed by the country’s leaders”, Sergey Orlov says. “The Delovaya Rossiya’s Committee where I have chaired for more than two years strives to affect the formation of the socially responsible business culture among the Russian business community. Particularly, we managed to collect and raise awareness of public about a hundred of individual examples of daily business practice of colleagues from the Delovaya Rossiya. I am pleased to note that many businessmen, representing not only major but also small, medium-sized or so called non-resource business fairly consciously follow the socially responsible business principles in relation to consumers of products and services, environment, their own employees and the society.
By reviving of the Blagoe Delo Award, we strive to promote socially responsible entrepreneurship ideas among a wider range of Delovaya Rossiya members. In 2016, many of them were nominated for the award for their projects. We receive requests for nomination for the Blagoe Delo Award 2017 from all over our large country and not only from Delovaya Rossiya members now. The award becomes truly all-Russian. The requests are being accepted, and we learn about many really interesting and even unique projects that bring positive changes to the people’s life in our country.
