The Krasnoyarsk krai government has given its approval for the development of project documentation to build a state-of-the-art waste sorting plant in the left-bank industrial area of Krasnoyarsk. Additionally, the Ministry of Ecology and Nature Management of Krasnoyarsk krai has authorized the investment program of the project. The order No. 77-378-od was signed on April 24, 2023.
Engineering Company, part of the RWM Capital Investment Group, will be responsible for implementing the project. The plant is intended to handle 300 thousand tons of waste per year, which will fully meet the requirement to sort all municipal solid waste collected within the left-bank industrial area.
Felix Blinov, CEO of RWM Capital Investment Group, states that the project aims to establish an integrated municipal solid waste (MSW) management system in the left-bank industrial area. of Krasnoyarsk. The goal is to create a new industry for recovering secondary material resources (SMR) within the region. “With the approval of the terms of reference for the project documentation and the investment plan being in place, the company is now commencing engineering surveys and design works. The objective is to obtain approval by the state experts before the end of the year, paving the way for the construction to begin.”
The introduction of the new waste sorting plant in Krasnoyarsk will enable separation of valuable fractions from MSW for recycling purposes. this will reduce the waste buried in the landfills, thereby minimizing environmental impact.
